I get a warm feeling every time I see my kids enjoying holiday festivities. They live in a safe, loving home and, other than a “cruel homework load” and “obscenely early bedtimes,” lead lives of relative splendor. But this is not always the case, and tonight we’re going to be getting together for kids who have no such haven.
Social Media Club Lexington – Charity Event
Time: Tonight, 6:30 (12/3/09)
Place: Busters Backroom, 888 Manchester St. Lexington KY
There is a great group called “Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky” that, like many other charities, has felt the full brunt of the economic downturn and needs our help. But I’m happy to say that tonight we’ll be gathering at Busters BackRoom in Lexington Kentucky to help the cause and share lots of high value information about Social Media and Internet Business Issues.
Adam said that Kentucky was recently ranked #1 in childhood deaths from abuse and/or neglect.
Come enjoy live music, Raising Cane’s chicken fingers, Firehouse Subs, Buffalo Trace bourbon and Ale-8-One as we have a good time socializing and learning social media, all while benefiting a great organization. Also it’s a great opportunity to check out Lexington’s largest pool hall + music venue, Busters Billiards & Backroom.
Work stations and local social media addicts will be set up around the room so you can learn how to set up a basic Facebook business page, Twitter account, Linkedin account or group, or any other general questions you may have about social media.
Cover is $10 at the door. ALL of the proceeds will go to benefit Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky. So come on, bring friends, colleagues or family, and have fun while learning what you can do to prevent child abuse in our state.
As for me, I will bring my laptop and will be offering free, mini SEO 1:1 audits of websites and offering advice to business owners who come out. Bring your notepad and desire to thrive online in 2010, as there will be some serious expertise at this event.
