Thanks for the great blog post. I am still learning the in's and out's of google adwords, and I appreciate the heads up about the content network.

Great post.

This new 'service' sounds too thinly-veiled to be true honestly. That said, I'm MORE inclined to believe it's true given the sketchiness of the service and the obvious immediate benefits for Google.

Again, great post. Very helpful for guys like me who come across SEO questions professionally all the time, but don't focus on it.

Thanks,
Brennan

you say, "Every client coming to me desperate for help with Adwords spend has content network on (without knowing it)" and that's no exageration, I'm sure.

Most of my own don't even know what the "content network" is, until I say "You know those crummy websites that seem to exist only so people will click on the ads "?

THEN, they say, "Oh yeah, I hate those..." and when I show them screen shots of all they've spent on the content network, they're furious.

This "Automatic Matching" is yet another way to separate advertisers from their money, and doing so "automatically" just seems wrong.

IMO, "Do no evil" really seems to mean "Revise our definition of evil regularly" .
